I had the gyro combo and it was very good! It had a large portion of meat and the veggies were fresh. I also had a side of falafels and they were great! I would definitely recommend this place! The gal who took my order was so sweet, and kind. There is a nice sized inside seating area and it was clean and in order

My husband and I came for lunch. Although quite pricey we ordered from the lunch menu. The food was well portioned and delicious. The restaurant was clean and inviting. Service was great. The only complaint I have is paper plates. This food was too good to be served on cardboard. I'd still eat there again.

Excellent charcoal grilled flavor. This is my favorite kabob in San Diego. They serve good sized portions and the Tzatziki is so good!

I thought this was a great mom and pop pop store to enjoy a quick Mediterranean meal. There is plenty of space inside when we showed up, and I noticed that they also do a lot of delivery orders. I think the food was decent, but maybe because we showed up during a downtime that maybe was a little drier than usual.

Ordered take out and very pleased with quality of food and serving sizes! Greek salad with gyro meat was delicious and a huge portion for sharing! Hummus and tabbouleh was very good and very pleased with amount of pita bread provided as we always seem to not have enough pita at most places. Gyro sandwich looked good and none leftover from 11 year old. Don't recommend eating there as small and older inside. Recommend ordering to go.

Food was amazing! We have tried multiple other Mediterranean food places since moving to North county a few months ago and Taverna was the best! The flavors were on point on all the meats and sauces. The chicken was perfectly cooked and still juicy and very tender. I never eat salad and I ate the one served as a side with the Meal for 2 because the flavor was just so good. Definitely will be a regular here from now on!

This is the place you've been looking for! Food was amazing, my husband, toddler and I, finished every bite. The Chicken plate has Salad, Hummus, Greek yogurt sauce, and rice! Normally you have to order hummus on the side but this place includes it! Food was so fresh! Service was great, restaurant was clean.

Found Taverna on Yelp and found it to be a nice, quiet place in the middle of a small strip mall. Staff is friendly and the restaurant is clean. You order at the counter then the food is brought to the table you select. Ordered the chicken salad lunch special and was happy with my choice. Roasted vegetables, tomatoes, olives, red onion and tender grilled chicken topped the crunchy romaine lettuce. The special included a side of delicious tzatziki, tasty hummus, warm pita and a fountain drink. My coworkers ordered the gyros lunch plate and the lamb kebab plate....both said their food was delicious. Will definitely come back if I'm in the area.

Pleasantly surprised by the food, stopped in to an unassuming place in a shopping center for dinner. AMAZING dolmas, fresh and warm, and several vegetarian/vegan options. Quick service, it's a walk up counter, casual dining style. Small cleaning seating area, seems to see a lot of takeout business.
